American Express – Information/Wireframing Prototyping

Highlight

State-of-the-art application interface design improves product usability and reinforces promise of excellence

Challenge

Unfortunately, it’s not uncommon for financial services to lag behind many other industries in terms of technology. Often times, providers have to settle with using (or trying to use) old, outdated legacy systems that are cumbersome and far from user-friendly. American Express needed a serious update to its critical services display that had an outdated and cluttered interface.

Solution

I developed usability recommendations as well as visual design enhancements, focusing on key areas such as the census and the flow sheet. A restructuring of the application framework made it easier to navigate and provide intuitive contextual controls. The visual design modernized and simplified the interface and made it consistent with AmEx’s current branding.
